My 22" Protec strap is comfortable and looks good and easily adjustable while playing. Not bulky like some straps. Love the snap clip for safety.

    Not very comfortable

Comments about Protec 22" Leather Saxophone Neckstrap with Metal Snap:

The leather may be fairly soft but the strap itself is not. It is a rigid design that can dig into the neck and become noticeably uncomfortable. It seems like it will hold up but I won't be finding out. It is not worth your money.

Durable, Comfortable, Very Good Neck Strap

Comments about Protec 22" Leather Saxophone Neckstrap with Metal Snap:

I've used the Protec leather neckstrap almost every day for the past 2 years and it still looks and feels like new - only slight wear on the cord can be detected. The actual part that contacts your neck is much wider than straps that I used in the past, but this was an easy adjustment. The padding is split so there is no pressure on your actual spine. Originally I thought was hype but now that I've tried it, I'll never have any other style of strap - love the split padding! (I have another strap for my tenor from another maker which also has split padding, but it is twice the price). The Protec leather is very soft, comfortable, and enjoyable to wear. The strap does get a little hot against my neck sometimes, but nothing bad - even when playing outside gigs or festivals in Texas. The clip is very sturdy and seems like it was made to hold far more weight than just a saxophone. The metal slide is shaped such that it is easy to find, grab, and adjust - even while playing. OK, now for my perceived cons: When you look close at the concave sides of the metal slide, you can see v-shaped ridges. Mine were pretty sharp and took some getting used to. Additionally, the plastic coating on the hook increased its diameter, making it more challenging to attach to the horn. This difficulty is compounded by the fact that the spring of the hook is very strong and in my opinion, more difficult to open than is necessary. So, if there is a hard part to using this strap, it's clipping it onto your horn, but once you are in, you?re solid. I have and an 81xxx series mark iv and never worry when I need to let the horn hang while I do a two-handed page turn or get a drink of water. Personally, I rate this neckstrap: Craftsmanship and durability =10/10. Comfort = 10/10 Functionality = 8/10 So, go buy this strap... You'll look great and feel confident that your equipment is safe. Then you can stop reading reviews of different straps and spend your time practicing!
