NEW - "Strong, but not fitted"

This trombone picture is the older version. I find the newer version to be very disappointing because there is no strap. First of all, this case is strong, durable, and most likely will not fall apart, although I have seen some battered cases. But this case only fits newer trombones. My two trombones, a Yamaha YSL 646 (20 years) and an Olds Opera 023 (40 years), do not fit into this newer case. There is way too much room for the trombones to slide, including the actual slide, and the two extra foam fill-ins do not stay where they are supposed to. (mine actually ripped) The large pocket is okay for organizing small items, but it tends to mush the music. Putting a mute in there is out of the question. The strap that it comes with is just awkward, at least for me, and the case is super heavy. Don't get me wrong, if you have an OPEN-WRAP NEW instrument, it will fit perfectly, specifically Conn 88H and Bach Strads. But for my semi-open and closed wrap old instruments, it just did not suit my needs. The older version, the one the picture shows, is much better. There is way more room for mouthpieces and lubes and music. Also, DO NOT trust this case with rough use! There have been many cases in which the trombone is severely damaged around the bell and neck when hit by accident. For a good case, I highly recommend the brand new, amazing Pro pac case, an SKB case, or a Cronkhite gig bag, if you plan to be a serious trombonist.

This case is amazing! It has everything that you could want in a trombone case (except lots and lots of money) and more. The padding is very thick and is able to protect my Bach 42BG Stradivarius Series Professional Tenor Trombone w/ F-Attachment (purchased at the WWBW for the best possible price) very well on long trips. It also has separate containers for your mouthpieces, which is great so that they don't taste mildly of slide oil/grease/lube. The side case is very useful for carrying sheet music and CD's, your iPod and cell phone maybe, as well as other smallish items. When I got it I wasn't sure if it was a hard case, the most protective kind, but I can assure you that it is, and it is more protective than the wooden ones, or molded plastic student ones like we had back in '86. This is an all around great case and well worth the price tag. There is no where that sells them cheaper, but to get a discount subscribe to the WWBW.com's newsletter, as they often mail out specials sales that you wouldn't get otherwise, further lowering the price. Also, please don't but it as a bagpipe case, that made me cry, and in actuality the cases will not make good bagpipe cases.

Fits all trombones of all sizes. It has different pads for different bore sizes to fit in case. It is durable with the option of D-Rings for attatching mute cases, music holders, ect. Has enough room in it to carry Trombotine, Rotary oil, spray bottle, a number of mouthpieces, plunger, pixie mute, and more with ease.

Its a well kept secret that bone cases work great for bagpipes. After I ripped all that padding out, my Liugi Ricci Zampogna fits perfectly! No wiggle room , but plenty of space for xtras..the bell cushion forms perfectly around the manca chanter...(Other pipers - be careful to remove also the screws on the handle side as they'll rip your bag open.) Only problem is how to install an air vent so the goatskin bag doesn't get unsanitary..... It's a versatile case- I'm buying another for my Bechonnet and Biniou! Ciao
