Excellent control and a full and rich sound .
The student mouthpiece that is good enough for the pros. Excellent control and the ability to produce a full and rich sound with little effort are two of the reasons the Pyne Sinfonia is one of the most popular step-up mouthpieces for high school and college players. The Pyne Sinfonia is hand faced and finished to perform at extraordinarily high levels.

Comments about Pyne Sinfonia Bb Clarinet Mouthpiece:
I'm an adult who has been playing just over 4 years and play in my local community band. My first clarinet was a Yamaha 450 and I purchased a Vandoren B45 as an "upgrade" to the stock mouthpiece. I did that entirely based upon popularity and recommendations for a beginning player to develop an embrochure. That mouthpiece was never that satisfying to me but I had no reference. That setup made it difficult at the time to produce the altissimo notes. I read some more reviews and decided to try the Pyne Synfonia. My only hesitation was the price, but it is hand finished by a well established and esteemed maker which factored heavily into my decision. This mouthpiece was more comfortable for me and allowed me more ease of articulation and altissimo note production. As I developed I purchased a vintage professional clarinet, Selmer Series 10 that I had fully refurbished and several Pyne barrels to compliment the instrument and the mouthpiece. It has been good for me, which isn't to say I wouldn't or won't try some other mouthpieces in the future. With my current setup I get both very good intonation, good projection and control. Happy hunting!
