I have had this bag since 1980's. It has certainly done its job. The bag is still great but sad to say the zipper just gave out. Time for a new one.

This bag stands the test of a gigging musician that is not careful with his stuff. We've had it for years, and it still looks brand new. You cannot go wrong with this bag.

Great protection that DOESN'T WEAR OUT

I've had my leather Reunion Blues trumpet bag since 1988 and have used it ever since for pretty much all my playing -- orchestra, church, outdoor, camp -- because it's such a great combination of hands-free lightweight convenience with rugged protection. This bag works equally well for any of my Bb trumpets, C trumpet, and either long-bell or short-bell models of D and Eb trumpets. The thick cushioning nestles and stabilizes all valve/bell configurations effectively, (unlike most hard cases which expect the valves to be a certain distance from the mouthpipe or bell). The leather is thick and stiff enough to give near-hard-shell protection throughout (not just where the bell has the rigid insert). And durable -- even after 20 years, the occasional touch of black shoe polish still makes it look like new again, no matter how much scuffing or scratching it's taken. The super-thick cushioning totally surrounds the trumpet so that outside impacts never reach the instrument. And even the carrying design is good for safety -- when I sling the strap over my shoulder to carry the trumpet across my back, I think it's less likely to get bumped into things than if it were in a hard case swinging from my hand. The outside storage pocket means that, unlike many hard cases, the mouthpiece and valve oil won't ever ding up the instrument from rattling around loose in the case. The shoulder strap is non-slip (unlike seatbelt material) heavy-duty webbing, and the attachment hardware is also built to last. Over 20 years later, no regrets, no complaints. I'd gladly buy another one tomorrow, except that this one probably won't ever wear out. Bonus: Black leather looks cool!
