My wife bought one of these mounts for me as a birthday present over 10 years ago (maybe 15 years ago), and it has held up well. In those day, it was pictured with the magnetic base, and when the base did not arrive, she had to fight with the vendor to get it. Without the base, I doubt that it would be truly useful because it is rather top heavy. With the base it definitely gives a rock-solid mount, and is an important part of my kit.
Since then I've moved up to a higher quality triangle because the double hangers take out some of the overtones, and I had to trim/shorten the padded grip to make the new triangle fit. The grip itself has also held up well, but I rarely touch it so it really never gets handled. The rubber rings have to be replaced periodically, and that has produced wear on the plastic end caps. One got lost last week when I took the triangle to a gig (wasn't me -- I had help packing my gear), so I hope that RT has new ones available.
The best part is that the triangle mounts up, and does not dangle from a string. This allows access from the top, like a wood block or cowbell, and lets me mount it below my roll-cymbal to give a more compact set-up.
As an elementary band teacher, I find the this triangle is perfect for young percussionists. Because this triangle is easy to hold, strike and manage, my students can focus more on their music and watching the director than worrying about hitting a moving target (a swinging triangle). I've purchased this triangle for both of my schools and have introduced and converted many teachers. If you buy this you won't be sorry
