Introducing the new Rico Reed Case - the only case designed to work with the Reed Vitalizer Automatic Humidity Control System (HCS). Simply insert the enclosed Reed Vitalizer pack into the lid, and your reeds are guaranteed to be stored at the proper humidity level. The Rico reed case is the only system that offers 2-way humidity control. |

This was the first reed case I bought after having the Vandoran humidity controlled reed case recommended to me by several people. I couldn't find the Vandoran, but I did find this reed case and was extremely impressed with it. It keeps the reeds flat and at a constant humidity so they never dry out and warp. Opening the case can be a problem, but once you figure it out, it's really easy, just don't hand it to someone else to open for you! The only downside to this case is that you have to replace the humidity pack, but the refill packs are pretty cheap and very easy to replace. All in all, this is a wonderful product. It holds up to 8 reeds, which is really helpful when you're either breaking in new reeds or trying to get that perfect reed. In the end, it saved me money because I find that it makes my reeds play much longer.

Very functional-carries 8 reeds...sleek design and compact. Case is a bit difficult or inconvenient to open though...however it’s probably because it seals air.

All the reed cases I've tried have typically had one of two problems: either the reeds warp, or they mold. This is the first case I've had that hasn't had either problem. However, due to the fairly humid local weather, I usually have to use the higher humidity levels. It's easy to use: just change the humidity packet when it gets hard (a simple slide out, slide in procedure). I use the alto case and the clarinet case (in which I also store soprano sax reeds). I would absolutely buy it again if either one were to break. I'm hoping for the release of a tenor sax application.

I have been using the Rico Reedvidilizer system since shortly after it came out, and I was excited to see that they finally came up w/ a reed case to replace the awkward bag. It did not disappoint, it holds 8 reeds, is cheaper than most other reed cases, and most importantly it keeps reeds at the perfect humidity so they never warp and so the are always in top condition to play w/ NO SOAKING AT ALL, when the top humidity pack is used. There is one slight drawback when compared to the awkward bag is that the humidity control packs do not last as long, but you can extend the life by soaking the control packs in water for a week or so. I would recommend the highest Humidity pack and the Humidipack refill 3 pack, along with this product. Though the technology sounds complicated it really is a no brainer, and it is as simple as putting a pouch in a slot and you never have to soak your reeds again!!
