"Tom's new method for finishing reeds is fantastic. Every clarinetist and saxophonist ought to own and use it. Besides it being effective and easy to use, it's a real bargain. The system will pay for itself the first week of use. I'm recommending it to all my students!".

Howard Klug Professor of Clarinet, Chair, Woodwind Department

"Tom Ridenour's Universal ATG Single-Reed Finishing System is a marvel of simplicity and intuitive understanding. The approach to diagnosing and fixing reed imbalances is presented in a logical series of steps that demystify the whole reed adjustment process. All single reed players, at any level of expertise, will be amazed by the improvements in tone and response they can achieve through the ATG System."

Dr. Caroline Hartig, Ball State University

"I HAVE THREE RECITALS THIS WEEK...I NEEDED REEDS AND NOW I HAVE THEM." ..... I finally had some time this weekend to work on the system and really watch the video carefully. It is just tremendous!!! I have three recitals this week... I needed reeds and now I have them. I will be sure to tell everyone to buy this system. I am so impressed. Everyone must have the book and video. Also congrats on the fine presentation. It is so clear and concise and straight ahead Richard Glaze, University of West Florida, Principal clarinet - Pensacola Symphony Orchestra
"....IT IS INCREDIBLE....IT MAKES PLAYING FUN AGAIN" Tom, I wanted to let you know I received your ATG reed surfacing system a couple of weeks ago and it is incredible. Every reed I have adjusted plays beautifully. It makes playing fun again. I would love for my students to be able to purchase this system also. Thanks again. P.S. You should sell millions of these. It is fantastic.

I have never failed to make a reed play at least very well with Mr. Ridenour's system. I am now rotating amongst 12 reeds 5 different brands and they all play great. I don't care which one I use. You will be able to make your worst reeds play very well on your first try with the system and after a couple months of use you will have refined your techniques such that you will be producing reeds which are better than you have ever played. You will never throw away a new reed because you don't like the way it plays. You will quickly adjust it to play the way you want it to play. Maybe this sounds too much like marketing hyperbole, but this has been my experience. I have used the techniques on Eb and Bb soprano, bass, and contrabass reeds. I would have given up on learning the contrabass and blamed my failure on a sick old instrument. But, using the ATG I finished a couple of reeds and got the monster to play pretty well. Mr. Ridenour is unusual in the music world. He is an analytical thinker who is capable of understanding a problem and devising a solution without being hobbled by traditional thinking. The magic in the ATG is not the tools but Mr. Ridenour's clear explanation of reed problems and his easy and innovative solution.

Comments about Ridenour Professional ATG Reed Finishing System:

I am doing this to all my reeds even out of the package, It really works for me, the video shows you how to test your reeds and understand the sound that comes out of it. I don't know if its a must for everyone, but I am a beginner and I can really tell that it helps me get better sound from my reeds.

Comments about Ridenour Professional ATG Reed Finishing System:

Watched the video last night then adjusted all the bad reeds in my case tonight. Some were nearly unplayable. Every reed was improved to be responsive and consistent, so I'm very impressed. With practice, I'm confident I could make each reed perform as well as the best reed in my case.

Works Like a Charm!!!

Comments about Ridenour Professional ATG Reed Finishing System:

As a saxophonist, I wasn't too sure that this would work. It was designed by a clarinet player. My doubts were put to rest when I saw the creator himself take an aweful reed and make it play very well. I bought one right there. I've been using it now for about 2 years and it SAVES lots of MONEY on reeds. Instead of getting 2 or 3 good ones per box, I can now get 7 or 8. I recommend this product to any single reed player.

A New Reed Adjustment System

By

from Toledo, OH

Comments about Ridenour Professional ATG Reed Finishing System:

To say that the ATG reed System is amazing is almost an understatement. I have been working with the ATG for about 8 months and I am just getting through re-adjusting many of the reeds that I had given up on over the years; I have yet to have to open one of the many new boxes I have on the shelf. I have not needed to! As soon as you start viewing TomÆs instructional CD, you suddenly have a sense of possibly being empowered to make just about any reed work for you. When you actually start using the ATG, you are quickly able to make a reed that might have been somewhat marginal in the past into a real player. This phenomena happens over and over again. The adjustments are simple and the approach is straight forward and sound. I canÆt imagine how anyone could possibly not find the ATG Reed System a superior addition to your reed adjustment regimen.

A must for all clarinet and sax players

Comments about Ridenour Professional ATG Reed Finishing System:

You have three choices. You can continue to suffer with reeds that don't play or play only half heartedly, you can purchase dozens of reeds to find one that responds and sounds as you wish all reeds would, or you can purchase Tom Ridenour's brilliant and simple system and hold the secret to making nearly every reed play. The ATG System will pay for itself in about 30 minutes. The frustration you now feel about reeds will melt away. Why has no one thought of this before? Because it takes a unique player of Mr. Ridenour's analytical abilities to figure out where other methods commonly relied on to adjust reeds are flawed. This will likely be the best value for your dollar you've gotten in a long time. Don't hesitate. Get it today!

How did I live without this?

By

Comments about Ridenour Professional ATG Reed Finishing System:

Admittedly a bit pricey, yet worth every penny! His system makes complete sense, and I obtained good results in short order. I figure that I have about 2 decade's worth of mediocre reeds that I can now convert to good or great players with his system. I use Fibracell reeds, and his method works quite well on them. His method is so simple and yet so smart - "Now, why didn't I think of that?" Practicing is more enjoyable and far more productive with reeds that play really well. I don't need to muscle the reed to get what I want. The most difficult thing to get the hang of is his method of testing the side-to-side balance of the reed (which, by the way, is described at his website, but seeing him do it on the DVD is very helpful.) He demonstrates this method for clarinet only, with no tips for we saxophonists. However I've found that the method is quite adaptable to sax. Over time, one becomes better at this testing method - which it seems to me will lead to even better results adjusting the reed.

Comments about Ridenour Professional ATG Reed Finishing System:

I have found the ATG system to improve my clarinet reed adjustment significantly. I think he has the right idea on that. The only problem I have is I can't get the beautiful tone on clarinet that Ridenour does.
