I wanted to clear up a couple things about the medium metal version. First of all, it is the second picture, with the silver thumbscrew. It has a much smaller circumference than the one meant for rubber/plastic mpcs, but made of the same material. Also, here is what the sticker says on the box:
Metal Alto Sax:
Dukoff, Guardala, Yanagisawa
Metal Tenor Sax:
Selmer, Brilhart, Guardala, Berg Larsen, Dukoff, Meyer, Runyon, Yanigsawa, etc.
The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that the threads had some small particles on it when I got it, causing a gritty feeling when I started to tighten it. I immediately cleaned it and regreased it, and it's fine now.
Much better than the poor-fitting Berg stock ligature. Highly recommended.
The rovner light ligature works great for a free-blowing, brighter sound (generally more for jazz). You usually can't go wrong with this ligature. However!!! It does not fit Otto Link Tenor Sax metal mouthpieces, including the NY series, it's too small. The label says "fits most" - not all.
