What a great mouthpiece at a great price. Plays well with or without the spoiler. Great projection with a little bit of edge. Only mouthpiece off the shelf that passes the seal test. Easy to control, easy overtones. Beats my Meyer hands down. Only knock is the cheap plastic like ligature it comes with. Changed to a Vandoren optimum with a cushion on top of the mouthpiece to make it fit.
I like this mouthpiece a lot! I use it to play in a variety of places. Weather in my studio or at church, this mouthpiece gives a good full sound that stands out in a non piercing kind of way. The tone is slightly darker than most other mouthpieces but is very easy to control once you master the lower register which is a little harder. However, anyone who buys it would not be disappointed!
I got this mouthpiece for my Martin Troubadour Alto and it really opened up. Same thing on my 23 Alto. This piece is amazing. It has a thick full sound that is easily controlled.
I was amazed at this mouthpiece! I have never been ale to play with such power! So easy to play! My setup is this mouthpiece tip 5 with Hemke premium 4's. It?s the perfect balance of dark and edge! It?s bright but not to bright. However, I only recommend it for smooth or fusion jazz, things of that nature or if you're playing a laid back jazz piece, where you don't want to stick out to much. But like I said, I don't recommend it for when you play Big Band stuff, for that I would stay on a metal mouthpiece. But that?s just me. Again, LOVE this mouthpiece. You won't stick out, but you will be noticed. As previously stated, yes the only thing is the ligature, but that can easily be solved.
