"Serves a specific purpose, can be troublesome"

I will firstly say these are good to have if you really can't reach a key. However, try to get one on each of your three side keys (high E, side C and side Bb), and you will quickly learn what the "trouble" can be. They often interfere with the operation of the very keys they are intended to help, by either adding thickness to the bottom of the key and as a result causing another neighboring key to open, or by sliding around and causing issues getting the keys to open/close at all. Obviously, this can be a problem. As it stands, I use one of these bumpers on my high E key, and I use one designed for the palm keys (the other Runyon bumpers available) on my palm D. This was all it needed for my old Bundy to be just right. Some of my other (higher end) altos have a high E key that curves outward. This little bumper somewhat replicates that, and makes it easier to grab the key. I'm still looking around for a glue, though. Paul Coats suggests "E6000" (available at Walmart, apparently) works well and doesn't harm your instrument's finish. In the end, you'll need to tweak with them, but they're worth the small investment if you really need the extra height on some of your keys. If you're more of a DIY type, a piece of wine cork cut to the proper shape and glued onto the key would also work, and have none of the issues I mentioned above.
