I've owned a couple of these SKB cases. For the most part I like them as a safer alternative to a "gig bag" which means you shouldn't used this in any way other than the way you would use a gig bag. One case was destroyed when I loaded it with other equipment. It was crushed between a couple Avil type cases. The trombone survived. I intended to use the case as a carry-on for planes because they don't fit well in the overhead compartment. The second case I purchased I did check in as baggage (with Fragile stickers). It went halfway around the world and back without a problem till the leg fr
