I have had this piece for about two years now, and love it. I get lots of compliments about my sound and people always look at it crazy, but it is a wonderful mouthpiece. I never have times when I don't like it. I try others, but then I switch back and think nope it's still better. It is just consistent in every register and reed friendly. I just use Rico orange box 3 1/2's on a cannonball unlaquered. And on Tenor I just got the pro sr tech on a cannonball with jazz select 3med.
I bought a used Legend .085 & quot; in my search for & quot; the & quot; lead alto mouthpiece, and suffice it to say I haven't tried any others since then. It has that & quot;lead sound & quot; for me, bright with good projection and a little edge, but still lots of body to the sound. I'd say it has a bit of a Phil Woods vibe. It's quite flexible tone-wise, so it works great in a combo setting, too. The only two negative aspects, in my opinion, are that it's a little reed-picky (loud high notes will squeak with the wrong reeds) and that altissimo is a bit harder than I'd like. That being said, I'm sure someone who is better than myself at altissimo could play it just fine up high.
