I've been playing on this mouthpiece for three years now, and it's backed me up the whole way. My private teacher requested I try this one next to the Otto link, and it won in my opinion. It just has better response, and it cuts through better than anything I've ever heard. A little on the bright side, but the fabric lig that comes with it compensates for that. I've played it in a Marching band - and was too loud. And in all jazz settings, this will fit nicely. You can sound like Brecker, Redman, Getz, Gordon, or Parker with this beauty.
A great mouthpiece that can do it all. You can get the whole range of sounds depending upon how you set it up with the reed. It feels extremely efficient to me. Even though this mouthpiece has a tip opening slightly larger than what I was playing before, I still ended up increasing reed strength to achieve adequate resistance. One could easily play rock/ R&B with this mouthpiece, then go to traditional jazz with no problems.
Right when I tried this piece, I knew it was for me. It has the bright tone I was looking for to play the funk-rock that I was into. It can handle everything I push through it and with the right reed, you can still get those whispered lows and a decent mellow sound. If I were looking for a new piece, I'd go for hard rubber, I play in some colder places and the metal piece makes me work harder for tuning. For playing the normal indoor gigs it is awesome.
