Out of all the low end cymbal lines, I think Sabian is the winner for the best quality/price ratio. This particular cymbal is a bit thrashy, but has a nice response. Compare to the Zildjain and Paiste low end cymbals and I think this will show them who is boss. The finish wears off fast though, that’s my only complaint. If you are looking for a good beginner cymbal set up, look into the Sabian B8 series .

I got this cymbal to replace a ride and it's worked pretty well. The bell is alright, but you have to pretty much use the shoulder of the stick to get a nice sound from it, but it's pretty swell once you get the right feel for it. I’d use it more as a deep crash instead of a ride.
