If you just started to drum this is a good cymbal, but it is a little bit thin, I mean if you are hitting it and you go play a little bit harder it starts to move hard and don't give the straight sound. It is too much after noise you hear; the cup has a nice high sound.

I was looking for a ride with a sound comparable to the sounds of the rides used in the 80's. The Sabian B8 series has a bright overall tone, slightly higher in register than their B20 counterparts. I have issues with these being called "Beginner" or "Entry Level" cymbals. They are every bit as good as a Pasite 2002, or a Mienl SoundCaster, at a fraction of the cost. They record extremely well. B8 series cymbals are probably the most recorded type of cymbal for the past 25 years.
