The Schilke B Series Custom Bb Trumpets with Beryllium Tuning Bell are some of the most responsive and rich sounding instruments available. The beryllium copper bell is made of extremely lightweight copper which offers more direct, compact projection. The advantage of the tuning bell feature is that the tuning slide can be left all the way in or moved only a little, thereby, keeping the bore relatively free of gaps that may cause a disturbance in the nodel pattern of the sound. These trumpets are available in a variety of bell and bore combinations and feature tight valve tolerances for superior performance to meet the needs of the professional player. The Schilke B Series Custom Bb Trumpets with Beryllium Tuning Bell are available in models B1LB, B2LB, B3LB, B4LB, B5LB, B6LB, or B7LB. Case and mouthpiece NOT included.
The Tunable Beryllium Bell Series offers a beryllium copper bell that projects very well with more of the higher overtones present. The response of this material is also faster at all dynamic levels from pianissimo to fortissimo. The advantage of the tuning bell feature is that the tuning slide can be left all the way in or moved only a little, thereby, keeping the bore relatively free of gaps that may cause a disturbance in the nodel pattern of the sound.

Comments about Schilke B Series Custom Bb Trumpet with Beryllium Tuning Bell:
I recently found a deal on a B6L-B (B6 with tunable beryllium bell). Made in 1976 gold plated. It's a real beauty. Even after almost of 40 years of life. This trumpet is often compared to the Yamaha model 8310Z. Which I happen to own as well. In my opinion the B6LB has a more open feel. Projection is greater due to the extremely light weight bell. I can leave the tuning slide (left all the way in) alone. And tune from the bell. Not disturbing the Nodel pattern. Rumor has it. It has a .450 bore. But, opens up to a .463 You'd never notice it incorporates a large bore in the mix. Same as the 8310Z which has a .445 bore. Opening up to a .463 Both play with less effort than a standard medium-large bore trumpet. (.459, .460) Feels great. Plays great. Plays a strong LEAD TRUMPET.
