This is exactly what I was looking for when I wanted to get a good metronome to practice with. Features: - low-pitched clicking sound that doesn't hurt the ears like some cheap metronomes - rotating dial for fast tempo-changing - adjustable volume dial that goes very loud (I have it at about half volume when I play clarinet) - blinking light so it can be used silently during rehearsals - a nifty fold-out stand on the back A few other things that I don't use, but may be helpful to you, are: - higher-pitched click (there are 2 options) - A and Bb tuning pitches - headphone jack It has everything you need without all the extra bells and whistles that just get in the way. The perfect metronome.
I gave this 2 stars because when this metronome did work, it was great. I've had other metronomes for years, but this one didn't last very long.
For under $30, this metronome is worth it. Compared to its size, its click is quite loud. It is easy to use, and I recommend it to all of my students if they don't want to spend a lot of money on a decent metronome. I preferred the color and price of the SQ50, which is why I rated this one 4/5 stars. There are no other differences between the two models [SQ50 and SQ50-V] other than color and price.
