Product Overview and Specifications
A tapered and proportioned bell diameter focuses and centers the sound, making the La Vie perfect for jazz or classical styles. combines the warmth of a red brass neck, body, and bow with the brilliance of a yellow brass bell for a balanced tonal palette. Musicians seeking an even darker sound will appreciate the 240 Series (AS240 alto, TS240 tenor), featuring bronze neck, body, and bow coupled with a yellow brass bell.Selmer La Vie saxophones incorporate many unique design concepts. The high G key extends the natural range of the instrument and tames this treacherous note. Right-hand section adjusting screws simplify the adjustment and regulation process. Double cup arms on low C, B, and Bb stabilize these large keys to maintain an accurate pad seat on the tone hole chimney rims. All La Vie saxophones include a deluxe BAM Trek-style case and a professional hard rubber mouthpiece.

I just upgraded to this from my student model. It's a very nice horn; it plays well, and has a very rich deep tone to it. In my opinion I think it’s around the level of a Selmer Paris. Now for the downs, sometimes the notes are a little stubborn to get out, but it's most likely just that c* mouthpiece, also in the neck of the horn there is a cut out place where the high G key opens into, so if you don’t have the neck on just right it will give you some trouble up there, luckily the manufacturers solved that by putting some little arrows pointing where it goes. Overall I think this horn is a 4.5/5 stars, but for the price I definitely give it a 5/5.

The AS240 is a great high-end intermediate saxophone and could also be considered a professional sax. It responds great and will not let you down in any situation. The high g is useful in many situations and works well. The double arms on the bottom notes let you and easier time conquering low notes. The engraving is very stylish and goes up the side. As a bonus, you get a great Selmer C* mouthpiece, great for classical style with a very square opening. I’m not sure what is the difference is between the 250 and 240, besides the body material, I’ve heard the 250 is brighter than the 240. The 240 is full and warm in any case. Great saxophone and price.
