This instrument has a warm tone and good projection. It tends to go a little flat in the 3rd register (which makes dog bark and glass break ;<) unless you use a hard reed. I've played one for 6 years in a German Band and have been very satisfied. It takes some work to play it in a Concert Band, but then again they all do.
