I bought The Super Action 80 when I was 15. If your looking for a uncomparable tone this is your sax. This sax is great to work with for many reasons. It never has broken down for me or ever need repairs, and is made by elite craftsman, who are the best at what you need. This saxophone HAS THE BEST COLOR AND TONE YOU WILL FIND ON THE MARKET. And most importantly, if you're planning to major in music in college, a Selmer is the way to go, because NO instructure will EVER say that Selmer saxophones are bad. They are the elite, and the best.

I have had this horn since 1986 and have never had an issue with this horn. This horn is the Porsche of saxes, high performance, durable, and beautiful. The only gripe i have is the angle of the neck, but i switched to the Series 3 neck, which gave it a little more punch and another dimension to the sound and is more comfortable. This will probably be a much sought after horn like the MKIV in 20 yrs or so.

My school recently bought these for students' use... These horns are truly awesome, although comparable with the wayy cheaper Yamaha Allegro (my personal horn).. I would personally recommend either one but I think this horn is best suited for jazz, but if you don't play jazz, i strongly suggest the Yamaha, but I think they both play about the same.
