Consistent performer

Comments about Selmer Paris Model 67 Professional Low C Bass Clarinet:

I have been playing this instrument for almost a year now. I bought it because much of the concert band repertory now demands the extended range. I find that I am using it much more than my 1964 Selmer Paris Series-9 low-Eb model. Standardizing on one instrument improves performance skills I think. The auxiliary keys on this model make playing involved passages much easier. It can produce big sound but that is not always the most important attribute... intonation throughout the range is! This bass clarinet has the most consistent intonation throughout its entire range that I have found. It does have the usual "tightness" in the upper range from E through G but it is manageable. The altissimo is more manageable than on other instruments I have owned. Overall, this is a fine instrument that I would recommend for anyone who has a serious involvement in music. It is definitely an instrument for the SERIOUS amateur and professional.

Comments about Selmer Paris Model 67 Professional Low C Bass Clarinet:

By Far the best French bass clarinet in the market. Utterly destroys the Buffet Prestige in volume, sound, and intonation. The Selmer Privilege is sure to be the standard bearer in the bass clarinet department for years to come.
