I got this guitar when I was about 4 or 5 years old and it?s been through all sorts of abuse. I?m now 14 and it still plays fairly well. I am currently taking it apart to try and keep it going a little longer. It's definitely not something I would play on stage but for traveling and just jamming on something it?s pretty cool.
It is a hilariously cool guitar that is cheap but nice at the same time.
When my youngest daughter (age 7) said she wanted to learn guitar, she needed something that was sized to fit her little hands. I didn't want a toy. I wanted a real guitar?one that I would enjoy playing as a travel guitar. Well, this is no toy! It actually played decently right out of the box. I put new strings on it, did a bit of set-up on the fully adjustable bridge saddles, and ZAH!...a nice little axe. Don't be expecting a scaled-down version of a full-size, genuine, made in the U.S.A., vintage Strat. For example, it doesn't have the sustain, volume, or "bite" of my '62 L-Strat, and the fretboard radius is larger (flatter, with less curvature) than I'm used to playing on an electric. But for $99, you get a guitar that plays well, plays in tune, won't break the bank, gives a little kid or someone with small hands the chance to play a REAL guitar, and you'll enjoy playing it yourself as a travel guitar, or just as a change of pace. What's more, there's no mistaking that it has the Strat sound. You won't be disappointed.
