This is a sturdy little horn with great action. The sound is wonderful and easy to change. The sound with a caravan mouthpiece is very dark and perfect for sax quartet and classical music. Put on an Otto link and the sound is rich and bright with lots of core to it. I wouldn't suggest using the mouthpiece it comes with. It produces a brash and tinny sound with too much edge for my taste. The intonation is pretty even throughout and the horn is a lot of fun to play. I would recommend this instrument to anyone.

I tested this against a couple of Yanigasawa curved soprano. The tone quality was superior to the Yanis, but the intonation was not as good (though intonation is always an issue with curved sopranos). In particular, the intonation on the low end was way out compared to the Yanis. The craftsmanship seemed quite good and the ergonomics were as good as the Yani except that the next isn't as curved as the Yani, so the horn is still sticking out from the body quite a bit - the Yani lies closer to the body, more like an alto. But considering this horn is >$1000 less than the Yani, I'd say it's a pretty good deal.
