They're a great economic choice for beginners and frugal musicians. I got these to start playing on and they're OK. Yes, I know my ability might reflect a ton in the sound, but I've tried other strings and they just aren't the same as the high quality ones.
I've had this for a day and I already fell in love. Plus they are very easy to tune. I bought those cheap violins. The all the strings snapped. I bought these then it actually made my violin sound better.
These were the first strings that I ever played on, and I love them! I have been playing violin for 8 years now and even to this day I keep a spare set of these in my case for emergencies. (Mostly because the current set I have on is way more expensive, and as a college student I can't afford to stock up on those) These strings stay in tune super well. I don't have to worry too much about temperature affecting them. They are reliable and very responsible, this is an important factor for beginners. I recommend these strings to all of my beginning students, and students on a budget. I once had a student who kept a set of these on his violin for two years! (NOT RECOMMENDED)I love Red Label and will always recommend them because of their quality and affordablity.
I always order Red Label strings for my classroom. They are reliable, sound good, and are economical.
