I was looking to add some new sound to my kit, and I wanted a higher pitch snare with more attack and a louder sound, so as I was searching for a piccolo snare I stumbled across this. This 13x4 inch snare is perfect for a loud crack and powerful punch, yet it is just a s articulate as a standard piccolo, in my search to buying this snare I realized how Tama is always one step ahead of everyone else and seems that’s why I made the choice to buy these, and I would recommend this it to anyone else looking for the same thing as I did.

I was in a bit of dilemma when I needed a snare in two days for a performance and didn’t feel like paying the extra shipping costs so I decided to make a trip to the showroom in South Bend sort of last minute. But hey when you’ve got nothing better to do why wouldn’t you go to the nicest music store in the region. Back to the snare, I had been looking for a new snare anyways since the one that came with my set wasn't so great and I’d seen this in music store magazines and researched it online. When I got to south bend it was sitting out on a stand and tuned up ready to play. I personally loved it right there. I decided to go ahead and look at the other snares that were sitting around and still came back to this one every time. Not only does this snare sound great but the steel and nickel combination is absolutely gorgeous... the pictures on the net don’t serve justice... it’s twice as nice in person. So I bought a brand new one (6.5x14) and picked it up at the warehouse took it home got it out of the included bag which is VERY nice... tuned it up in less then ten minutes and played for about 2 hours straight just tweaking it to get it perfect every few minutes and haven’t had to tune it since. I’ve been playing it for almost three weeks now and am completely satisfied with everything about this drum and would recommend it too anyone. I’m very pleased and pumped to begin gigging with this drum... it’s a definite head turner. Even though it’s a little less then some other snares that you might consider it could still easily compete with the higher dollar snares and deserves at least checking out once or twice.
