The fantastic 500 Series 516e-Bari limited edition Grand Symphony from Taylor is a baritone guitar featuring gorgeous quilted sapele back and sides topped with bearclaw Sitka spruce. The guitar’s husky voice (tuned from B to B) is brimming with warmth, low-end richness, midrange growl and a thick, but clear, top end with impressive projection and headroom thanks in part to Adirondack spruce bracing. A baritone makes a compelling addition to any guitarist’s acoustic arsenal for a variety of musical applications: accompanying a lower vocal range, adding a complementary acoustic texture to other acoustic guitar parts, or sparking fresh songwriting inspiration. 


Appointments include faux tortoise shell binding, a rosette of faux tortoise shell and grained ivoroid, grained ivoroid Century fretboard inlays, and a gloss finish body. The guitar also features Taylor’s natural-sounding Expression System 2 acoustic electronics, includes a special edition label inside the soundhole and ships in Taylor’s deluxe hardshell case.

The heart of the Expression System 2 is Taylor’s patented behind-the-saddle pickup, which features three uniquely positioned and individually calibrated pickup sensors. The location of the sensors enables a more dynamic range of acoustic sound to be captured than ever before. Together with Taylor’s custom-designed “professional audio”-grade preamp, this system produces exceptional amplified tone and responsiveness. On stage through a PA, plugged into your favorite acoustic amplifier, or direct into recording software, the Expression System 2 faithfully conveys the voice of your Taylor guitar.
