Comments about The String Centre Flesch Flat Violin Chinrest:
This is a great chinrest that can be used either in the center of the instrument or on the left. Putting it in the center tends to pull the instrument a little towards the violinists' front (rather than to the left), which is great for women and children (anyone 5'6" or less, basically). Having the violin placed a little more toward the center enables those with shorter arms to reach the tip of the bow more easily. The chinrest also has no uncomfortable ridges, so it suits just about everybody, and has been comfortable for nearly all my students. The only drawback is that most shoulder rests are designed to work with the angle of chinrests placed on the left side, so it took me a little while to figure out how to adjust my Bon Musica to work properly with the center chinrest. My only other complaint is that I wish these chinrests were made for tiny violins also!
