The String Center Sponge
These genuine rubber sponges, simply held in place with a rubber band (not included), have been used for years by professional violinists. For many players they are still the best solution to the problem of the violin slipping on the shoulder. Unlike many shoulder rests or thick sponges, they do not tilt the violin as it sits on the shoulder. And, unlike any other sponge, they are guaranteed to give a sure grip to both the instrument and to the shoulder so that the violin is held with confidence, freeing up the left hand for vibrato and shifting.
