Comments about Toca Freestyle Rainstick:
I was looking for a good sounding rain stick that was durable and would hold up to travel with my school band. I purchased this rain stick because it looked like it would fit the bill. When I received the stick, it did not live up to all of my expectations. Although it looks like the pictures, the material seems to be durable, and the size is what I was looking for,I am not impressed with the sound or the movement of the material inside the stick. Unlike an authentic cactus rain stick, I have to gently shake/twist the stick to get the stuff inside to fall appropriately. It feels as if the material gets hung up on the "needles" inside and needs help falling. It also has a darker sound than a cactus rain stick. This will make a good general music class rain stick, but I would not recommend it as a performance rain stick unless you like the color scheme.
