NEW - "Pleasant Surprise!"

I started playing on these reeds at the beginning of this new year because my professor was forcing me to switch off of my beloved Mitchell Lurie's. I was really irritated but the first reed I pulled out of the box sounded great and I immediately hopped on the Vandoren bandwagon. These reeds are made so well and play so consistently. I may have been resistant about switching at first but I couldn't be happier with the results.

"Not as good as V12"

I thought these were great at first because so many out of the box worked for me, but after breaking them in the sound is not as consistent as with v12s. If you need reeds on the spot to get the job done, go for these, but if you want reliability stick with v12s.

These reeds are fantastic. Although they are pricey, they are worth it for the consistency out of the box. The "factory fresh" claim is valid; hopefully, Vandoren will follow up with this kind of treatment for all of their reeds. The cut of the reed (no filing or first cut) mskers for greatrer resiliency, and they play more like a great handmade reed.

These reeds are fantastic!!!! The sound is superb, and they are not at all hard to play or at all sqeaky. My clarinet sounds rich and very sweet in the upper registers. I would recomend these to any serious musician!!!!

Every musician faces the time of transition between the high school and the college level. Along my journey to finding the perfect reed to perform in college, I came across the Rues. These reeds are most definitely some of Vandoren's greatest work! The tone is very consistent along with that durability found in Vandoren's reeds. The only drawback to these reeds is the fact that they do become rather unstable after a lot of playing, but what reed doesn't! Definitely an excellent choice for the advancing clarinetist.
