Vandoren V12 Bb Clarinet ReedsV12 reeds have a thicker tip and longer pallet that results in a deeper, richer sound with body to the attack. This cut is a favorite among clarinetists world-wide. It is designed for the advanced clarinetist, and recommended for long-facing mouthpieces such as the 5RVLyre and B45. It is known for its precise attack, homogenous timbre in every register, controllability in the high register, and overall warm and velvety sound.

I have bought these reeds for years for my niece who played in her high school's champion marching band and who now plays in her college pep band and Newport Community Band. She plays an expensive clarinet and will only use the best quality reeds which she says enhance the sound produced by her instrument.
I bought these reeds for the clarinetist in my ensemble. These reeds took him some time about a week to get used to. Results: richer tone, reeds that last longer due to a thicker cut, easier altissimo register, and more importantly, better intonation. I highly recommend these reeds.
Good quality box of reeds, it is the only kind I use. If you are looking for a great reed, you just can't beat the Vandoren V16.
The reed is very good. There are a few bad reeds in the box. but that is common with reeds.
Theese reeds are the perfect reed, they sound great right out of the box. They sound better than the traditional vandorens and they last longer to. These are the only reeds that I play on for marching and concerts.
After years of playing Vandoren Traditionals, I grew tired of only finding 2-3 good reeds in a box and having to spend hours adjusting the other ones, sometimes to no avail. I experimented with several other brands (Olivieri, Gonzalez, Zonda, to name a few), I finally tried these. I was blown away! They are so easy to break in, play easily, help give me that beautiful clarinet tone that everyone wants, and no more frustration with buying a box with only 2 good reeds in it. The only downside is that if you don't break them in properly, they tend to collapse pretty quickly. Other than that, these are the best reeds you can buy.
I brought these reeds to perform Weber before thousands of people. V12 has definitely earned my trust!
I've recently been experimenting my sound by trying out different types of reeds, and these reeds definitely help create a darker and richer sound. They're also a great help with articulation, very clean. As soon as I started warming up with these reeds, I fell in love; and as I kept playing it got even better. I can definitely say that I fell in love with these reeds one note at a time! Totally worth the price, and wether you're in high school or at a more advanced level, these reeds will definitely be a great addition to your playing.
When my clarinet teacher suggested that I buy these reeds, I thought they were expensive, but they turned out to be worth the money. These reeds produce a nice, dark sound, just the one you want for your clarinet. I particularly like them because I am a student who is always looking for ways to improve my playing and sound, which is just what these reeds did for me. I started buying these reeds about 2 years ago and they still amaze me.
I have played on the regular Vandoren reeds (3) for many years, and I always had a lot of trouble breaking the reeds in. I heard that the V12 reeds were outstanding for a lot of people, and I bought a package of them to see what they were like. Never in my entire life have I had an entire box of reeds be great reeds! I've seen 3 or 4 at the most be decent out of regular Vandoren reeds. I heard that these were a thicker cut of reed, and I bought the 2 1/2s. The tone of these reeds is astounding; the regular vandorens have a horribly bright sound compared to the V12s. The V12s have a beautiful dark tone, and they play very easily. I recommend these reeds to any clarinet player; professional or student. They are a little expensive, but for what they bring with them, they are really at a fantastic price.
