Vic Firth American Classic Hickory Drumsticks

The Vic Firth 5A's are the most versatile sticks IÆve ever played on. I regularly use these for jazz (piano trio and quartet), for which they have a gorgeous cymbal sound and enough body to kick up some volume when I need too as well as praise and worship services where I'm competing with electric bass, guitars, and piano. I've played about every brand of stick on the market and these are the best!

These are the sticks i have used all my career, and I will never use anything else. They take an incredible beating before they break. I have also discovered that if you cover the top half of the stick (NOT the tip) in electrical tape, then they last almost forever.

I think they name these sticks "classics" because they will last so long without breaking they will be the oldest sticks in your bag!!! I always have two pairs of these in my bag. By the time the oldest ones break (1-2 years) I have gone through countless sets of Zildjian sticks. I have a pair of 5bn's that are so old I think I will retire them! I also recommend the RockN for a little extra reach for the rockers out there! The best 7 bucks you will ever spend!

The sticks are very comfortable in the hands - they don't fall out of the hands, are very smooh, don't crack quickly, and are inexpensive.

Vic's are the only sticks I have ever had that they were the same pitch. These feel great in my hands.
