I bought a WolfPak single trumpet case/gig bag a few months ago. I had wanted one of these for years and finally got one. I play a variety of music in different settings, so I was looking for a single case/bag in which to carry several items besides my horn, mouthpieces, and usual accessories (valve oil, etc.). The WolfPak single case has plenty of storage in the outer pocket. The size of the pocket is basically the same size as the side of the case. the zipper is not as sturdy as most Protec cases, but it works well. There is also a small, rigid storage compartment with flip-up lid inside the case. Be warned of four things: 1. This case is much larger and heavier than the average single trumpet gig bag. Due to the thick padding and size of the case, the WolfPak is much heavier than its competitors' reinforced gig bags. 2. The lid is padded but not rigid like the rest of the case. You may want to use some extra padding over your horn on the lid side. 3. The instrument compartment does not have a pre-molded shape for your horn. Instead WolfPak provides four small 'pillows' with Velcro (so they can be moved around) to cradle your horn. This was disappointing to me when I saw it for the first time, as there are no photos of the inside of the case anywhere on the internet. 4. The main compartment's zipper closure has to be worked together a bit before you can zip it up. Basically, the lid's zipper is on a bit of a flap that goes around the top lip of the rest of the case. It is a breeze to do, but it takes a moment longer to close this case than it does most gig bags, including Protecs. Overall I think this is a good case but it has a couple flaws, mainly the lack of a pre-formed cradle for your horn and the lack of a solid lid. But both faults can be overcome with a little ingenuity. For a musician on the go who has to carry a lot besides the basics - and who does not want to carry an extra bag around for all the extra things - this is a great choice.
I bought this case a few months ago, but was not able to see a picture of the inside. The Case was perchased through WWBW site. Although the case is solidly built and certainly protects the instrument, and turned out to be, more or less, rain proof, this case has several design flaws: 1) There is no room for accessories, such as mutes. I had to purchase a small carry case to be able to have my mutes and other accessories with me. 2) The small accessory compartment is very tiny, and the small tab that allows opening it quickly ripped out, 3) The carrying strap is very uncomfortable to sling over the should. 4) there is no top handle to carry the case vertically, it would be an improvement to have a top handle. 5) It is difficult to close the main compartment lid, as there is an overlapping lip that must be manually set into place to allow the zippers to close properly. 6) By carefully placing the provided paddings I was able to insert a Wolfpak double mouthpiece pouch. Basically this is a very sturdy and impressive looking single trumpet case. But these design flaws, seriously reduce the level of what would otherwise be a very good buy for a trumpet case. I would recommend this case for someone who does not carry many accessories: mutes, stands, whatever and only needs a single trumpet, without carrying much music.
