Yamaha 4C Bass Clarinet MouthpieceYamaha has prepared an array of top-quality woodwind mouthpieces to meet the musical requirements of players at every level of proficiency in every genre. Yamaha mouthpieces are made of plastic or hard rubber. Both are designed to produce a well-balanced tone with all the flexibility the player requires.Tip openingsTip openings range from 3C (the smallest) to 7C (the largest), giving the player different options and playing characteristics to choose from. Wider tip openings provided consistent intonation and easy response, generating a good, clear tone. Narrow tip openings help the player achieve a more focused sound with greater volume and projection while providing a richer tone quality and easier vibrato.Face lengthYamaha mouthpieces also feature different facing lengths. Longer facings create a robust sound while being very flexible and easily controlled. In contrast, shorter facing lengths produce a brilliant, clear sound but have reduced flexibility and are more difficult to control.Overall constructionYamaha mouthpieces are designed in consideration of each of the above features and are combined with an appropriate throat size, chamber size and shape, baffle shape and angle, bore size, window size, and facing curve depth. An inspection after every step of the manufacturing process ensures that the mouthpiece can be relied upon with confidence.

Choose from the folowing Yamaha Warranties:
The 7C version of this mouthpiece is excellent and very cheap. It over blows the 12ths? in tune unlike the Selmer mouthpieces which tend to be flat. The tone remains stable and round around the top of the second register, the Vandorens become brittle. The tone stays full from there on up. I use a Legere studio tenor sax reed which results in a very free blowing bass with a good sound. I would love to try the 7C Custom bass mouthpiece as they are made of rubber and have a slightly longer lay. I have thinned the rails and tip and cleaned up the chamber of this mouthpiece which has improved the tonguing response which was probably slightly slower than the Vandoren?s (but better than the Selmer?s) previously, now the 7C is stronger for me as a mouthpiece in all respect. I use this mouthpiece on a Buffet Prestige bass to a low C which has had extensive adjustment work done (It?s a rocket ship of a bass).
