This is a great mouthpiece with amazing tone and volume. I play with a yamaha professional and vandoren 3 1/2. The mouthpiece works fantastic. The volume range is huge and it produces low with ease. I would compare this with a Selmer C* and say it works just as good. If you play on a Yamaha and Vandorens or anything else I would recommend this mouhtpiece. For any jazz or symphonic or marching band member.
This is an awesome mouthpiece. I just started playing bari a few months ago after 2.5 years or so of playing alto. It gives a nice, bulky sound in the low register, and a pure, clean sound in the upper register. Goes well with any basic ligature (I use a Selmer, but any basic metal band lig. will do the job), and 2.5 Rico royal reeds. DO NOT USE #2 REEDS!!! (Wimpy sound)
I use this piece in my earlier years, though i haven't really played that long, but all and all if you want to get started on bari or your just having projection and tone quality this mouthpiece is for you.
I started on one of these mouthpieces when I learned to play Bari. It's good for learning to play, but the higher registers tend to be sharp. If you are going to be in a marching band, jazz band, or any more involved group, I would recommend a different mouthpiece. Again, this is a good starter piece, but it can't play as loud or project as well as a hard rubber or metal piece.
this mouthpiece is great for marching band. I had one and even on my backup(Out of commission) reeds it would play perfectly in tune. then in band class it broke cause it fell sadly. i am getting another one cause my old school mouthpieces are junk or play squeaky oh and started out on this when i started playing bari full time cause i used to play alto
