Comments about Yamaha 5C Tenor Saxophone Mouthpiece:

The mouth piece looks striking and it also plays amazing. This mouth piece has a great price for what it does without breaking the bank! Would recommend to 8th grade and up

Comments about Yamaha 5C Tenor Saxophone Mouthpiece:

I replaced the cheapie mouthpiece that came with my cheapie horn with a 5C (?0.082 facing) and it made a huge difference - after all, the mouthpiece is where the sound comes. This is a nice student mouthpiece. (I'd been away for years...) If your more experienced and have some chops,do what I did - I replaced this after 2 weeks with a Rico Graphonite - another big step up - might want to check them out - about the same price. (more variety and, subjectively, I think a more precision in the chamber design).

Great MP For the Price

Comments about Yamaha 5C Tenor Saxophone Mouthpiece:

The 5C came with the YTS 575 that my director ordered for me, and I hadn't really tried a whole lot of mouthpieces up until that point but I know they were just cheap ones that the school bought and the 5C was a definite improvement. I've now moved on to the classical standard Selmer S80 C* and there is no doubt it's a great mouthpiece but if I was on a budget and had to choose something less than Selmer I would go for this mouthpiece it's definitely a great buy. Nice clean tone, a little harder to focus pitch than a C* but for what your paying it's still really good. Fairly versatile it allows you to really wail away for jazz and rock and still allows you to maintain good tone while playing under fairly quiet flutes and clarinets. It's like I said, it's great for the price you're paying.
