When I was going mouthpiece shoping, I deffenitly did not intend to get this amazing mouthpiece! This mouthpiece produces a VERY brilliant and bright tone. This will also aid you in your high register. I was able to play my F scale up an octave! To warn you, this is a fairly shallow cup. If you play mainly 4th or 3rd trumpet, it isn't the best mouthpiece for you. But, you can pop those really high notes like nobodies business! And for it being a shallow cup, it has a very open and comfertable feel in the upper range and mid range. This mouthpiece is DEFENITLY worth it!!

Shew lead mouthpiece

The mouthpiece feels really comfortable and I don't get fatigue easily. Unfortunately this mouthpiece isn't for me because the rim is too large for my lips! Still a great price and mouthpiece overall!

BOBBY SHEW MOUTHPIECE

By

Comments about Yamaha Bobby Shew Lead Trumpet Silver-plated Mouthpiece:

I bought this mouthpiece in the hopes it would

extend my range while keeping the rich tone and

flexibility I already experience. I practiced

on the Bobby Shew for about a month, also using

my favorite Schilke as a comparison. The Shew

did extend my upper register, but I was

sacrificing tone and flexibility. It's a good

mouthpiece. I just can't use it for my

particular playing needs.

Comments about Yamaha Bobby Shew Lead Trumpet Silver-plated Mouthpiece:

I've tried several mouthpieces, and this one is THE ONE. Perfect for comfort, range, and tone. Great price. Couldn't be happier with Yamaha's product (and their trumpet).

Shew mouthpiece

Comments about Yamaha Bobby Shew Lead Trumpet Silver-plated Mouthpiece:

This mouthpiece has a great lead tone quality and an amazing brilliance to it. The reason why i give two stars is because i received this mouthpiece and was fairly annoyed when i simply went for a high c and i had to push way too hard for it. My airflow gets cut off if i go too high and play too loud. I've let my friends use it and they tell me the same thing. Maybe i got a dud but just keep this in mind before buying

Great All around mouthpiece

Comments about Yamaha Bobby Shew Lead Trumpet Silver-plated Mouthpiece:

Ive been playing trumpet for 15 yrs...been on alot of mouthpieces from bach 1c,3c and 10.5c,schilke 6a4a,15b,14b,18,yamaha bs jazz,14a4a, handful of monettes...if you want a all around mouthpiece this is it....well as long as you been playing for awhile knowing how to drop your jaw have a open air way and use your abs you can get a beautful/fat sound for clasical/concert band then stand up and peel the paint off the wall with some jazz/open/bright sound and slam some double Gs and As.....also great for lead trumpet in drum and bugel corps...as far as playing high notes if you play as much as i do you can play 4 hour gigs without a problem

Comments about Yamaha Bobby Shew Lead Trumpet Silver-plated Mouthpiece:

It took a few weeks to get used to but now i play it in concert and jazz band. Great overall mouthpiece. If you need to pedal tone(extreme low range) its not for you but low F# and up it does amazing.

very comfortable, versatile, great mouthpiece

Comments about Yamaha Bobby Shew Lead Trumpet Silver-plated Mouthpiece:

I tried all the other Yamaha mouthpieces in the same size range as the Bobby Shew Jazz, but this mouthpiece remains more comfortable, versatile, and helps me create a nice, dark, rich tone on my trumpet for jazz. I also practice my "legit" practice pieces with it, too, and it still sounds and feels great. I've actually switched over to this mouthpiece for all my trumpets and the Bobby Shew flugelhorn mouthpiece as well, which is now my favorite as well.
