This great mixer gives a great, full sound to my playing. Matched with my Yamaha speakers, I feel I've gone to music heaven. It's light but very sturdy. How do I now? Because right before a show, mine fell down during setup from a height of 8 feet, bounced off the CONCRETE floor and then played as if nothing happened! For real! Over a year later, it's perfect. Don't think it would work if it was any other company's mixer. Get it!

I previously owned a Samson 910. Great features but less power and it weighed about as much as my 8 year old. When the phantom power went out, later! This Yamaha has alot more punch. and it's SO FREAKING LIGHT!! They say it's because the power amps are a new switching-type (D?). All I know is this can drive a pair of JBLs 3- ways along with a pair of 10" monitors all nigh, no problem. The feedback feature is a joke and the lights would be better served as peak indicators. I find I have to EQ the board/channels more than I'd like to but that's something I find with every board except my Soundcraft FX16. The compressors are a glizy add- on that I thought would be a life saver but can cause more problems (feedback) if overused. I gig twice a week. If you do that then you already know how old transporting everything gets. This helps a lot and sounds great! What more is there? Oh yeah, I'd like to have a longer warranty.
