Musical Experience: 25 yr. quintets & Eb sop. in brass band

I shopped around for about a year before buying my Xeno Eb. During that time I had the opportunity to try Kanstul, Getzen, Schilke, & Blackburn. I chose the Xeno based on some e-mails with designer Professor David King, YBS and also trial playing at ITG conferences. The tone is creamy sweet and I don't lip notes for intonation adjustments. I played Philip Sparke's "Flowerdale" Eb solo this past season and the horn was both pure and crystal clear as needed. I added a Ted Sparx cornet mouthpiece to my set-up to make for an unbeatable combination. I can't recommend this instrument enough. BTW, Peter Roberts happily played the prototype as it was being designed.

Have played the Xeno sop for 5 months and it's lovely. It has a lush tone with a punch and is light and easy to play. Would recommend it to anyone. Watch out Shilke!! :-)
