Choose from the folowing Yamaha Warranties:
I bought this horn after returning from a tuba/euphonium conference where I tried out every major high-end euphonium, including Willsons and Bessons. This one outplayed them all. Superb tone and ease of playing through all registers, beautiful, resonant sound, secure and compact valve action. Yamaha seems to have made significant "ergonomic" improvements when they designed the 842S -- the first three valves are closer together, and there is less of a "reach-around" to the fourth valve. As a result, this horn is easier to hold and play than the 642S, which means less fatigue over a long rehearsal or performance. My second choice would have been one of the new Bessons -- the ones being made in Germany -- but none of the horns that I tried out really measured up to this one. So far, I haven't found anything about it that I don't like.
This horn has it all. Great intonation, the most easy response I've ever seen, flawless workmanship. Try this horn before you buy the Willson!
I fell in love with this Euphonium when I played it in my High School Syphony. Now that im Majoring in Music Education I had to get myself one of these beauties. Its intonation is incredibly accurate, the response is unbeatable, and the tone is just so vivid. And I wont even get started on how the horn looks. Best Horn I've ever Played on!! BUY IT !!! You wont regret it!
I have been playing the euphonium for 10 years and I purchased a Yamaha YEP 842 euphonium two years ago and I absolutely love it! I have led the Euphonium section for two years at my college and owning this instrument has made me love playing even more! It has such a great clean tone and has extended my range dramatically. I would suggest this instrument to anyone who is serious about playing the euphonium at a college or professional level. A great instrument if you have the money for it. I have found that it is worth every dollar.
I've been playing Euphonium for nearly seven years now and I just recently purchased a Yamaha 842S. In high school I played on a Besson Prestige. The two are very different. The Besson favors the high range and the Yamaha favors the lower range. I like my lower range notes. they are very broad on the Yamaha. I can still pop out the fifth ledger line Eb easy. This horn is flat out astonishing.
