The first horn I've ever been happy with after two Kruspys. This horn projects so well at any volume. It's not stuffy nor is it out of tune(the tuning slides are really long). Pretty much Yamaha's version of the Hebert Knoft which they copied very well. Great horn to cut though the largest bands and orchestras without breaking a sweat.Great horn for Jazz too. Not for horn players who want to hide in the section...you will stick out with this horn.
I bought this horn a year and a half ago from wwbw and have been a happy owner ever since. This horn is very light weight and more comfortable to hold than the last horn I owned (a Holton 175.) The valves work great and this instrument has seen me through a concert tour in Taiwan and into a youth symphony. This model of horn tends to run fairly sharp, however, so it's something to be kept in mind if you tend sharp as a player. It's worth every penny.
