Comments about Yamaha YPC-62 Professional Piccolo:

For several years I have played on a YPC-62 with the standard headjoint. I've done quit well with it, to be honest. Recently, I though about getting a new headjoint for my picc, but didn't know what to try. I read a review of the "Wave Style" headjoint, new for Yamaha. So, I got one. I like the more mature sound of the wave over the standard, and the easy articulation qualities. As the head has a higher wall to blow against, it does require a little more air support -but no tooo much. I like having both heads for a variety of uses. I'm playing one of the Vivaldi concerti in the spring, and I've already decided to use the wave for the solo performance because of the mature sound quality.
