I own other professional trombones. I bought this trombone in a pawn shop, cleaned it, and use it mainly for combo or Dixieland gigs. This YSL354 has a bright but warm tone. It has excellent response for fast staccato passages and I find it projects the sound very well. When using a microphone, very little effort is used to produce a rich, full lush sound. (With this trombone, I use a Bach 9 mouthpiece.) The weight is very well distributed and does not tire the left hand.
