Yamaha YTR-6610S Series Eb/D TrumpetYamaha QualityMonel pistonsMonel pistons are resistant to corrosion and are an ideal choice for professional trumpet pistons which must retain precise fit and smooth action over many years.Hammered one-piece bellA one-piece bell has an axial (lengthwise) seam, making it a continuous extension of the instruments material. This results in pure, uniform resonance and superior tone. A hammered, yellow brass bell produces a slightly more intense, yet pure and perfectly-balanced tone with quick response and extra presence due to advanced manufacturing techniques.Hand-lapped pistons and slidesHand-lapping pistons and slides ensures an absolutely perfect fit and seal between the pistons and casing or slide parts. Such a perfect fit helps to achieve smooth air flow and smooth action and improve the response and intonation of the instrument.Pressure-formed tubingPerfectly rounded tubing results in less turbulence and a smoother air flow, thus allowing for an excellent scale and reduced resistance.Laser-fused pluzuma welded bellA high-energy laser fuses the brass together for a virtually seamless bell which allows continuous even vibrations.Unbraced inner outer tuning slideAs with all Yamaha lightweight trumpets, the YTR-6610S has an unbraced tuning slide which makes the trumpet comfortably open with less resistance.One-piece, drawn, gold brass leadpipeThis type of leadpipe offers excellent intonation, response and proper resistance. The step bore design is a medium bore trumpet fitted with a large bore tuning slide. This design allows for smoother air flow with less resistance.Tuning slides for D includedThe first, third, and main tuning slides for the D side are included.

Choose from the folowing Yamaha Warranties:
I bought one of these for wedding work. The horn plays well enough if you have a good scense of pitch. Playing in tune could be a challenge for less experienced players. The tone is brilliant to the point it sounds closer to a being a piccolo trumpet especially toward the upper register. Not objectional bright however and from all accounts sounds extremely good with pipe organ and voice. This was a good addition to my arsenal and I reccomend it to anyone with similar needs to mine but with caution to intermediate or beggining players.
This is probably the cheapest worthwhile Eb. It has quite a good sound, albeit fairly bright. It has a nice, even blow and feels pretty nice overall, not too open or restrictive. Articulations are good, not too percussive but they can sparkle when you need them to. On the downside, intonation is a bit funky. Definitely some bad notes. It's definitely a chamber/solo kind of horn. I wouldn't want to use it an an orchestra - don't think it would carry well enough, but that's just me. It's more akin to a piccolo than most Ebs are; indeed, I find that it responds best with my normal piccolo mouthpiece (essentially a 5D) rather than my Bb/C mouthpiece, which is opposite of how other Eb's have been for me. If you're just starting on the Eb or need it only occasionally, I wouldn't hesitate to choose this horn. It gets the job done, but if I were hitting the audition track I'd want something closer to a C, with a bigger sound and better intonation.
