Yamaha YTR-8335 Xeno Series Bb Trumpet
Key of Bb. Heavyweight; .459" bore; 4-7/8" hand-hammered, one-piece, yellow brass bell; one-piece drawn mouthpipe; Monel pistons; 2-piece valve casings; 1st valve slide thumb hook; double main tuning slide braces; clear epoxy lacquered finish. Includes case.

Xeno trumpets have won a place in the world's most prestigious symphonies and among top-level concert band and jazz players. Yamaha's flagship trumpets are heavyweight instruments, made with a metal that has been specially treated to deliver more power, better control, and a richer sound. All feature hand-lapped Monel pistons and slides; 2-piece valve casings; an improved mouthpiece receiver length for better response; pressure-formed tubing that is perfectly round for a smoother air flow; metal valve guides; gold brass mouthpipe; and hand-hammered, one-piece, annealed 4-7/8" bell. The combined result of these features is a highly responsive instrument with a dark tone that does not break up with volume.
All Yamaha wind instruments come with a limited 5-year warranty.

"Super Horn, Super Sound"

I had played on an intermediate King Silver Flair for 15 years and was looking to step up to a better, professional model horn. Boy did I find a jewel in the Yamaha Xeno. Believe all the characteristics listed concerning this horn. It has a beautiful, warm tone and great projection when the right amount of air is given to it. The valves are amazingly quick and smooth! And the look of the horn (8335G) is absolutely stunning! I also stepped back from a larger bore horn (.462) to this horn with a .459 bore and noticed an even more free blowing feel to it than my Silver Flair. So if you are worried about how this horn sounds and feels, DON'T! This horn is all it has been advertised to be and much more!

This horn responds great in the upper register and the mouthpiece it comes with has an amazing tone quality. It will work for jazz, concert, and even marching music. I absolutely love it.

I have had this horn over 5 years now. And so far it has not failed me. I play it in every band that I have been apart of. Big bands, Symphonic bands, Pit Orchestras, Marching bands, Pep bands, etc... The Xeno works for all of them. All registers respond very well, particularly the middle. The Xeno is a great horn for the advancing high school student.

"Solid horns. "

For the money, I think the Yamaha Xeno is 100% the best horn you can buy and is one of the most underrated deals on the market today. It is every bit the equal of the Bach Strad, IMO (or even better) and costs several hundred less. The Xeno, in my experience, has better response, greater color to the sound, and superior intonation to the vast majority of Strads. They are extremely consistent horns and respond quite well to many different mouthpieces. I fully recommend them to any and all students looking for their first professional trumpet - the Xeno will do it all and do it well.
