OVERVIEW

Designed for use by top orchestral professionals,

This Custom trumpet is the first in Yamaha's Artist series. It was manufactured and designed to the highest quality standards with the combined input of John Hagstrom of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Yamaha Brass Designer Bob Malone. A French bead bell rim with low dome wire improves sound projection, thanks to the refined, sharper rim edge. The YTR-9445CHS trumpet also features a Malone MC1 'hidden' reversed tuning slide design oversleeve, which is based on Bob Malone's classic mouthpipe designs.

Intended for use by top orchestral professionals, the trumpet's design places it at the pinnacle of orchestral trumpets, and sets the standard for other instruments that Yamaha will release in the future as part of the Artist Model series. All Yamaha trumpets and wind instruments come with a limited 5-year warranty.

I was looking for a horn to play with pipe organ and Brass quintet music. For intonation, control, sound, and response, this is the best C trumpet I've ever played. I've been playing a Bach C trumpet for many years. I was looking for a C trumpet that could lock in on notes throughout the upper and lower registers. The Yamaha YTR9445CHS Chicago Series Artist C Trumpet does just that and has a great response. Playing this horn side by side with my Bach, I could compare the center pitches, sound, and ease of playing. The Yamaha clearly excelled. I will say the Kanstul ZKT 1510 Signature Series C Trumpet placed a close second in my choice. Also, the quality of construction and outstanding valve action on the Yamaha makes this a great horn to play. I highly recommend it, even with the higher price.

Amazing

This is a wonderful horn. I was not planning on purchasing it new but circumstances required me to do so and I couldn't be happier. The intonation is far superior to any of the horns I have ever played before. While the price tag is high, you will fully appreciate where that money went when you compare it to any other C trumpet. The high C is crisp and clear, the E is perfectly in tune. The valves and slides are flawless. When played with confidence, the sound is the clearest of any C trumpet I have ever played. It projects like no other horn on earth. Perfect.

Fantastic Quality & Feel

This is truly a superb piece of engineering. Many of the quirks I have experienced with other C trumpets over the years are just not present in this horn. I've had to learn how to play C trumpet all over again - now I don't have to work nearly has hard to get excellent results. I said I would never spend this much money on a single horn, but now I am very glad that I did.

Great Instrument

The instrument has a great symphonic sound, wonderful intornation, and free-blowing. The slotting on the instrument is absolutely superb. The best "C" trumpet I have ever had the pleasure of playing. I have played Bach's, Kanstuls, Stomvi's, and Conn C's to name but just a few and this instrument is head and shoulders above any of those. Undoubtedly a great instrument. I did not buy mine from WWBW and probably should have, but it is still a fantastic instrument.
