I have vintage A Series cymbals that were around 50 years old and I didn’t want to crack them because they are classic. So I asked my mom just to buy a cheap replacement set which was the ZBT Rock Cymbal box set. I got the 14” fast crash ZHT with it and OH MY GOD it was amazing. I got a free cymbal that sounded amazing. ZHT's are amazing series which is a higher quality series than the ZBT's of ZXT's. I recommend buying the ZHT's over the other series because their sound is incredible. They are super durable and explosive.

When I heard about the high-tin model that Zildjian was coming out with, I was curious to see how it compared to the ZBT's that I have. To tell you the truth, they sound great, because not only are they a little more durable than ZBT's or ZXT's, but they produce a huge variety of sound. The crash in particular can be warm and hearty sounding when struck lightly with the shoulder of the stick, but it can also produce a brighter, more explosive tone suitable for rock and metal. It still does not compare to the higher Zildjian cast cymbals (A customs, or K's for example), and may not be the best for beginners. So why the full 5 star rating? One, because it's price is a little higher than ZBT's and ZXT's, but is a much better value (in sound) than the ZBT and ZXt models are. Also, they are good for intermediate players who can differentiate between different cymbal tonalities, and enjoy a large palette to paint from. This crash is essentially a multi-purposed cymbal, which is why it is such a great value for the price. However, if you want something exclusively drak and warm, or exclusively bright and punchy, I would recommend saving a little longer and buying a Zildjian K or A crash.
