I'm not really qualified to grade this oboe because I'm just beginning the instrument but I couldn't find even ONE review on it at google so here is the first review. If you disagree, please let me know at boland7214@aol.com First, it does not SMELL like old rubber tires like some of the lower priced oboes I tried out such as Vento and RS Berkeley. I hate Chinese products that smell of rubber! It seems to play LOUDLY and fairly EASILY. Plus it has ALL the "Conservatory Keys" like the left hand F and all the rest. I'm not sure if one really needs all those keys---let me know what you think---but I figure it's better to get all the keys now rather than be forced to buy a more advanced model next year--these oboes are expensivo! After I learn more about the pluses and minuses of this oboe, I'll write again. So far it seems better than the other less expensive oboes, plays well, keys look good, no smell! You might put it on your list of oboes to check out before buying. Good luck!
