Nice Sound, but the earpiece covering flakes off

I own three of these headphones and was very impressed by the sound quality. I've own these for about 6-7yrs but it only took a matter of month for the earpiece ribbon covering to peel off. It sticks to your skin and can be messy. It also takes a little away from the sound and sounds may bleed into live vocal recording b/c of the lost of "insulation". They were the first "professional" headphones I bought and I believe a good starting point for developing artists/musicians/engineers with slim-moderate budgets.

Excellent Sound

I bought a pair of these back in 2003 to use with my Yamaha Motif ES 8 workstation. The sound quality is pretty amazing, especially for the price. The highs and lows are crystal clear . . . and everything in between. Great for use in the studi. Only complaint I have is in the quality of the hardware. Just in the last month, these headphones have started flaking quite a bit. I don't know if this is a common problem, but these were gently used and always stored in a normal room temperature environment. Not sure why they are coming apart already. Aside from that small problem, I highly recommmend these.
