Dual 15" woofers and 2,400W of continuous Class-D output.
The most lightweight model in BASSBOSS's lineup of large-venue powered subwoofers, the dual 15" SSP215 Profundo subwoofer delivers bass at frequencies and output levels that many double 18” cabinets would struggle to match. The SSP215 enclosure supplies tight, detailed, and punchy bass and uses around half the space and considerably less weight than a typical dual 18″ enclosure.
For installed venue applications, this low-profile box can fit under the smallest of stages while filling packed dance floors with profoundly deep bass. But it's equally well-suited to the mobile professional who needs significant bass output in a package that's still portable and doesn’t take up much space.
The character of the 15″ drivers is ideal for live music venues and performances that can benefit from the greater articulation and detail than a typical 18″ driver can accomplish. The smallest frontal dimension of the SSP215 is only 17.5”. That’s just a foot and a half high, making it extremely versatile for placement options because it can fit under low stages, flown in low ceilings, tucked in corners, or between furniture where larger boxes wouldn’t fit. It’s only 22.5” deep and 48″ wide, making it a perfect truck-pack size. It’s tuned low, for use as a real subwoofer, with long-excursion, low distortion 15” woofers, and thanks to the lower mass of the 15” cones it delivers the tight, punchy sound as well as deep, rolling bass.
BASSBOSS was born out of a passion for ultra-deep low-end, and a belief that tight, clean, accurate bass is the foundation of great sound. Each BASSBOSS product is a mindfully engineered, painstakingly tuned, completely integrated audio system, intended to seamlessly pair with other BASSBOSS products. BASSBOSS speakers are designed, built and hand-assembled in Austin, Texas, using only premium components. Like its siblings in the BASSBOSS lineup, the SSP215 Profundo powered subwoofer is optimized for full-power usage. That is to say, it's intended to be pushed hard and abused, gig after gig. So, don't hold back—crank it up.
BASSBOSS uses only continuous RMS power ratings because you’re not going to be using your sub in millisecond bursts. For subwoofer applications, peak and burst power ratings are largely irrelevant. 2,400W of continuous power ensures the amp isn’t the limiting factor in the output of low frequencies, and prevents overheating issues and virtually eliminates the damage that clipping an underpowered amp can cause. BASSBOSS specs reflect what the products will achieve, consistently, in the real world—since the real world is where you’ll be using your gear.
Built to withstand the rigors of repeated gigging, the SSP215 powered subwoofer is constructed from 18 mm Baltic Birch plywood, using dado joints, screws and advanced composite adhesives. Stainless steel bolts are used to secure the driver, amplifier and pole sockets. The cabinet is finished in an extremely rugged, black polyurethane coating. The SSP215's drivers are protected by a black powder-coated, perforated steel grill, and the amp is recessed into the back of the cabinet for protection from damage.
Complementing the SSP215's virtually indestructible design are 15" drivers that are also built to take a beating. The woofer cones are waterproofed to protect them from accidental exposure to moisture, such as rain or spilled beverages. The added benefit of a waterproof cone is that you can clean the driver with a damp cloth in the event it becomes soiled.
